cant get game to lauch, help

i double click on battlefield 2 icon, it goes into a black screen as it would normally do when the games launches, then it goes back to desktop screen. why is this happening. 3 of my friends are having the same problem, and we cant get the game to fully launch, please help

maybe download latest driver (if you didn't), when I got my 8500GT I forgot to install drivers and it did that(scared me pretty bad) or try reinstalling game

Hey i had before the same problem but with a different game. What i did was reinstall the game and it worked.

i've tried reinstalling the game, i have the latest video card driver installed, its weird because some of my friends have the same problem. also, i can launch BF2142 but not this one. i dont know :-/

Try installing the dx9 redistributable:

I had the same problem with battlefield 2, i think thats what fixed it.

I too had this problem with Battlefield 2. The aforementioned solution of the DirectX9 redistributable is what solved the problem for me. Hope it works for you too.
