OK here's the story: I tried using this software called driver cleaner which helps get rid of old drivers and install new ones etc. Following the readme file it say to remove the nvidia drivers from program files, reboot in safe mode and then run the program.
Well I removed the old drivers and rebooted but I don't think my mobo has a hotkey for getting into safe mode, so I got to the login screen to find I can't use my mouse!
After countless restarts, boot modes, BIOS updates, RTC clearing, and even going back in time with norton goback to 2 days ago when the mouse worked fine, It still doesn't work.
It does however work before the login screen appears because i can use in my norton goback thing, which appears before the windows symbol comes up with the loading bar.
So I have ran out of ideas, it could be something i've missed or maybe I am actually screwed. One thing I noticed is if I let it boot on its own it will flash up a blue screen for a split second before restarting - just before the windows logo. But if I press f8 and tell it to boot from hard disk (which it should be booting from anyway) it will get to the login screen and the mouse freezing.
The keyboard seems to work fine, but you can't get into windows without a mouse. I think if I could re-install the nvidia drivers in the setup somehow it might work but I have no idea how to. Please help 'cos I'm about to throw my pc out the window
PS I hope this is in the right section!
