Can't Get Over 3.7 OC

Hey, I'm using an AMD Phenom X3 (stock 2.6) and I am trying to overclock it. Someone told me that i should be able to OC this processor to 3.9GHz, so that is what I am aiming for. I am currently on 3.705GHz, and no matter what i try, the computer won't boot. I bumped the voltage to 1.5V (I was told not to go past this) and even bumped the NB and SB voltages. Still the computer would not boot. Is there anything else I could do to make this computer run at 3.705GHz+ in the BIOS or something?

I was told not to bump mem past 1300 (stock 1333) so i left it at like 1100 something and the other option was 1400 somethin

Not all CPUs can overclock the same, just because someone got 3.9GHz doesnt mean you can, if they have a different CPU cooler, or CPU from a batch that happens to OC more, in overclocking "Your mileage may vary" definitely applies

Besides, an extra 1.1GHz is a really good overclock

Loosen up the RAM timings. You may need better cooling if you really want to push it. (Water Cooling) 3.7GHz is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. My 2.6GHz Phenom 9950 has a hell of a time getting past 3.0GHz.

If its a X3 at 2.6ghz. then its a Phenom II 710. Who ever told you that is NUTS! There are some 720BE that will clock that good. I've had this one up to 3.9 at 1.50V. But the 710 is not going to clock that well unless you got a cherry picked one.

On air for a 710 a 3.5 or 3.6 is a good overclock.

^^I think he misunderstood me on msn, i said some good chips can hit 3.8-3.9,and that 3.6 or so would be the standard overclock achievable on the 710. A 1Ghz overclock on a $100 chip is nothing to be ashamed of.
