Can't get pictures

I accidently took some pictures using the internal memory on my camera. When I connect my camera to my computer it says that the usb device has malfunctioned and I can't get my pictures. Usually i take my memory stick out of the camera and use a card reader. Why can't I get my pictures off?

Some cameras have the option of copying the pictures from the internal memory to a memory card. Skim around for such an option...

There's an option in the menu, under memory stick tools, called copy is that it. I don't want to lose the pictures.

Probably... Not knowing the camera I can't say for sure. But if it says "COPY", I can't see how that'd cause you to loose pics, if it is wrong...
