So i just tried to put everything together, pluged in the moniter, and nothing. The system starts up, but most of the time there no signal to the moniter. It has worked a few times, but when i actually get to the HP startup screen, I cant enter bios. the lights on the brand new keyboard i bought flash but i cant type nothing. But like i said, the bigger problem is actually getting the moniter to turn on. I have unplugged everything and replugged it, and the little power switch is in the right spot(115). Some please have a solution. I cant think of anything or find anything online.

Thanks, Jason

You should have added this to the other thread you started. It sounds like the bios is either goofed or the battery is weak on the older Asus model board HP used there. It that is an Asus in that model then a CR2032 will be the number for a new battery. You may end up having to reflash the bios with the last update available if that doesn't work. No signal could be a faulty video card.

I was going to add it to the other, but i figured lots of people might already be sick of looking at it. with a new one about fixing it, maybe others could help me.

So are you saying changing the battery might fix the problem? And what do you mean by "You may end up having to reflash the bios with the last update available if that doesn't work."? Also, there is no video card, the graphics are integrated.

Thanks, Jason

With onboard the vga chip could be on the way out explaining the lack of signal at times. The idea of having to update the bios is your mention of not neing able to enter the bios setup. With a weak battery on the board or the bios programming being lost to some extent a reflash or simple update may be needed to restore that. Remember you are looking at someone else's problems and need some history on the system there.
