cant load movie file!

I am trying to play a computer game and when I try to start it up the screen goes black and a little error comes up saying "ERROR: Couldn't load the movie file (Publish.avi)
I've been told to download a DivX player, but I did, and still no luck... I'm on a Windows 2001/2002 somewhere around there...
Please speak DUMB because I'm not good at computers...

the file is faulty. Maybe it doesn't even exist. Put the cd in the drive, than perform a search on your computer but select your cd drive (usually D:\) and search Publish.avi. If the file is not found then it means it probably doesn't exist.
