cant play age of empires three?

hey yet another game that wont let me play on vista home premium 32-bit. age of empires just installed without a hitch five minutes ago but when i start it up, the oading screen comes upp as usual, then right as the menu is about to pop up the window minimizes and my computer says that the program stopped working. wtf? like half my games are having these really annoying errors
 
hmm For somereason when i download the trial before i started the game i would get a compatability issue prompt msg. I just pressed run program and everything worked just fine =D
