Can't Play Games + Some Dodgy Stuff

I installed a new graphics card (X850XT) and power supply recently (Antec TP2 430). They both worked at first but now it cannot play games. In Oblivion after clicking play, this appears:

"Failed to initialize renderer
NiXAdapterDesc::GetDeviceCaps() failed"

Also, when scrolling webpages etc., it takes about a second to refresh the page. There are some dodgy pixels (fragments I think) on the windows startup screens.

Before you ask, I have installed the latest graphics drivers from ati.com.

Do I have a dodgy Video Card? It worked at first so I don't know why it would suddenly stop. Does anyone know what the error means?

The PSU is okay, 34A on 12V rails.

If you are getting artifacts then your card may be overheating, also, did you hook up the 6-pin power connector from the PSU to your card?

It still looks like something to do with a driver.. Uninstall the driver you have (Software and all) and then, Install the driver that came with your card and see if that helps.

If not, Your PSU may not have enough power to it. You PSU (Power Supply) may be a little to weak for the graphics card.

If you are getting artifacts then your card may be overheating

That could also be a big problem.

When you are replacing your video card you should always uninstall old drivers before putting the new one in.

The problems came back. I have re-installed the latest driver again but problems persist (different problems, but still problems) anyone know of any problems with the 8.241 display driver (the newest one available)?

Also where can I get some older drivers to try?

Internet?

I also mentioned that your card may be overheating, try downloading ATITool and see what are the temperatures.

I downloaded an older omega driver and it seems to have fixed the problem. Hopefully they won't come back.

btw what are omega drivers? are they drivers not made by Ati or Nvidia or something?
