Can't print after MSOffice 2003 install

I'm having trouble getting the MSOffice 2003 activated. When I try to activate it, I get the screen attached. It will only go so far and then stops. I've tried to re-install it but that didn't help. So I uninstalled it completely.

The problem is that since I have tried to install this, I cannot print from either of my printers anymore no matter what program I am in. Something has messed up my settings somehow because I get an error message that says printer has an error. When I click on Find Printer in the print window it says "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable". It shows in status: error 4 documents waiting.

Can somebody help me fix the printer problem? I have contacted the seller of the Office software and he said he would send me another activation code. Meantime, I need to print a document but can't with this printer problem. I have two printers connected by USB ports. One is a Canon MP250 and the other is a Brother laser printer HL-5370DW. Both of them worked flawlessly until I tried to add the MSOffice.

This is a new computer. A Dell Inspiron 3847 running Win 8.1 64 bit.

Have you tried reinstalling the printer? And may I ask where you bought this office software? Asking the seller for another activation code? This just doesn't sound right.... Sounds dodgy to me.

I got the software off ebay of course. It is a Student and teacher edition 2003. The guy said he had sold many of these without any problems. It is not the product key that is missing It is the activation code. It gives you two options on how to activate it. One by the internet which when you click that it goes through like an install but only goes so far and then the error box pops up and says it can't find an internet connection. The other option is to activate it by phone but Microsoft says it can't activate 2003 by phone anymore.

Do you have internet connectivity before trying to activate? Are you using any type of proxy to access the net? If so, try not using a proxy.
