Hey everyone,

I am trying to help my friend who lives States away and is in the Army. He recently DBAN'd his computer and now can not reinstall Windows.

Facts:
He is using ISO burned copies.
He keeps getting the "no disk found" or similar message.
Its Desktop, possibly 3 or 4 years old, (I know that is pretty old considering)

Can I answer more questions for you guru's?

Thanks everyone.

It's most likely he has options set in the bios for raid or ahci or it's even possible that he is using a pre SP1 install cd, which either way he would need to press f6 at the beginning of the install to install the sata controller driver or the raid/ahci driver. What motherboard is he using?

Tell him to purchase a Retail version of Windows instead of using
burned ISO pirated versions.

if u cant post something that helps then dont post at all, just because the xp is burned doesnt mean its pirated, Ketterning university use to provide the xp pro sp2 iso on the schools network for all the kids to download. so who knows if him being in the military maybe he was givin it also, but ur pointless waste of time post did nothing to help this.

Yeah, I'm sure it's more likely that they got it free...

Your post was no more help than mine, btw. ;)
