Hi

I got a widescreen 19" monitor today and it's recommended resolution is 1440x900. When I go to the nVidia menu to change the resolution I do not see 1440x900. There is 1360xsomething and 1600xsomething but nothing for 1440.. What do I do??

Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date, perhaps even try installing monitor drivers. They typically aren't required, but it may help.

Did you look in the Windows menu?

If you're using XP: Control Panel -> Display
If you're using Vista: Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Personalization -> Display Settings

That, and/or depending on your monitor you may have a button on the monitor that says Auto (or something like that). That might help.

dude Right click on your desktop The..
XP- Propteries and find the thing that changes resloutions lol
Vista- Personalize> Display settings..

Hmm. I read on a review that someone could only get 1440x900 while using the VGA cable, so I thought I'd lead that way, but if you've tried both??? I'm at a bit of a loss.

You could try installing a driver that comes on the Support Disk for the Monitor:

1) Put the support disk in your drive.
2) Open your Device Manager and expand the Monitors section. Double click on the available monitor and choose the Driver tab, then click Update Driver. Choose Not at this time, Next, Install from a list or specific location, Next, Don't search. I will choose the driver..., Have Disk...

and point it to your Support Disk. You may have to try a few different directories until you find an .ini or .inf file.

Sort of my last ditch effort to help. Good luck to you.

Not sure if the CD did the trick but I went to the nvidia advanced settings and under Resolution put "Add custom resolution" and just typed 1440 x 900 60 hertz
