i have a asrock k7s41gx. i have it up 1245mhz. i set the jumpers on the mobo but it didn't show up.i hace central brain identifier.is there a way to drop the multiplier? i didn't see anything in the bios for that
from asrock website:
Search for: fid jumper

Question:My motherboard provides FID jumpers. Why I can't change my CPU multiplier even though I already adjust FID jumpers correctly?(2003/8/15)
Answer:If the multiplier of your CPU is locked by itself, you can't change it even though you set FID jumpers through the motherboard.

if it is locked can i unlock it?
thanks Jay

yes, you can also try downloading CPUFSB so that you can change the fsb from windows, but when you reboot the multiplier and the fsb will reset to defaults :(

when i set the mobo jumpers to 5 multiplier,it still showed 10. cbi is the only thing that will drop my multiplier. so in cbi set my new setting to 5 and that will keep it at 5?

it will keep it at 5X but when you reboot your comp it will restart to the defaults (10X), understand, but i can't figure it out why it doesn't say 5X when it's set on your mobo

i will try with cbi. mabey one of my jumpers was bad. hard to believe.i will find some other ones and try that tomorrow. i will try cbi setting tonight.
thanks again

That dropdown box with the entires shows up regardless of whether you have full access to multipliers or not
