Can't update antivirus or windows defender

I've recently been having a lot of problems updating my Software. When I try updating Windows Defender I get this error "error found: Code 0x80244019" I've installed 3 free versions of antivirus programs "AVG" McAfee and Avast. All three are unable to download updates. From what I been reading from the searches it could very well be a virus and I believe that is the problem considering a week ago Avast showed up with multiple Trojans but I thought I've deleted them when I quarantined everything.

The other problem I'm having and I'm sure it's caused by the same problem. Is my search pages have been changed with advertisements. I can type in something in a search, click the link and it come up with Ads Ads Ads.. I can't get rid of them. I've installed and tried multiple programs like Highjackthis, Malwarebytes, Adaware, Spy Sweeper, CCleaner. Nothing seems to fix this.

Now with a final question, which will be my last resort if I can't resolve this problem easily. I have a fairly new Compaq Presario. When I try to do a factory restore it says there is no partition to do a factory restore with. Must insert CD's. Which I don't have. I should of done a backup the last time I did a factory restore. How can I install windows and reformat? Any suggestions with this stuff I would appreciate it. Thanks

i take it you posted a hijack log in the security section. that would be 1st to do.

i would goto the manufacture for your laptop / support and download all drivers or anything for that matter for your model.
