Cant Update HELP.

Im on my mums laptop as my computer failed me. Yer great. Anyway i went to clean it up and update it etc and i cant do a Windows Update? Everytime i open it the window diesent load and ends up not responding so i try going to the website and it then says im not an administrator when i obviously am. So i think maybe a virus? Anyway i boot into Safe Mode to see if that would work and still it does the same thing over and over can anyone shed some light on this please?

EDIT: USING WINDOWS VISTA SP1 BTW.

How do you know its a virus? It could be another technical problem i ran a scan with AntiVir and it shown no results

You really should follow the first "sticky" though, if you want it fixed

Haha yes i admit i am inpatient at times
