can't upload pics on windows anymore...

I plug my camera into my vista system and it gives me that "dun dun" noise but no options come up... im not able to upload any pictures, i tryed restarting the pc a few times but nothing helps


this is the second time this problem happened to me, the first just solved itself somehow...



any ideas?
 
Does anyone know how i can access the window that shows me different options of uploading from the camera? its a small window that has different media players in it but i always choose windows to upload.. yet i cant find that option in my search menu
 
Have you tried going into My Computer and see if the Camera appears there? If it does click on it, go into the folder where your pictures are and cut/copy them.
 
hmmm i just searched everything but couldn't find anything related to my camera... does anyone know what the windows program for uploading pics is called?
 
When the thing is inserted into the port, open my computer. Look for something like "C:" - That is not what you want. You will find one or two letters for the hard drive, either just c or c and d, and you will probably find another for the cd's or dvd's. The other one will probably be for the camera. Double click that, and you can drag and drop the pictures.

i looked in every folder in the C drive and cant find a thing about cd or dvds.. but i remember erasing a few acer programs a few days ago and im thinking that might be the problem here... even tho this same problem occured before erasing the programs it is the only thing i can think of that might have caused this b.s even tho acer doesn't have much to do with windows vista...


iono, im lost and confused right now..
 
could i download a program to upload pics from my cam to the pc?


does anyone know of a free program that can do that?

If you open my computer, you will see several things with a colon after the letter. C,D, and perhaps E. If you have it plugged in, either the D or E drive will have folders with pictures in them.

ooo ok.. hmm.. D drive is empty when i click it with camera plugged in, E just openes my cd thing.. f,g,h,i and j drives are all empty aswell, i have a sharing folder under all my drive options but it only allows me to access previous msn sharing files ....


im stumped
 
i forgot to add, the F drive disapeeres and reapeeres when i turn the camera on and off.. but all it shows is a lot of folders with numbers on them... all of them empty
