Can't use builtin Ethernet port

I have a couple of PCs that were given to me that were used in a office network.

I can't seem to change the settings to use the port for the internet. I have spare ethernet cards that I put in and the internet is ready in just a few seconds.

How does one reconfigure the builtin port to use?

I shouldn't have to install a ethernet card in each PC when the PC has a port already...

Most likely each one was set to a static IP. Right click on the local area network connection and click on properties. Highlight tcp/ip and then click on properties. Check to make sure that both boxes are checked for IP and DNS addresses.
