Can't use "save picture as"

Ok. let's say I am out at a website and I am trying to save a logo to my "my pictures" folder. As soon as I right click on the logo and click on "save picture as", the save as box appears for and instant and then disappears along with the webpage that I was on. I then go into the folder to see if there are any new downloads and there is not. Please help. Thank you. Frank

Installed firefox, when I tried to do the download as described above a "mozilla crash report" came up. Should I bother filling this out?

Tried firefox again but this time saved it to desktop and it worked fine. So does that mean there is something wrong with my "my pictures" folder. If so, is there something I can do to correct it? Thank you. Frank

There may be some filesystem errors, go to "My Computer", right-click "C:", go to "Properties" and then go to the tab called "Tools" or "Utilities" or "Maintenance" or something along those lines... I forgot the exact name. Anyways, there should be a "check disk drive for errors" or a similar option (at the top if I recall correctly, not sure), hit the button and the little dialog pops up, check "Automatically attempt to fix file system error" (or whatever it was called) and then hit OK. If it asks you to reboot in order to finish the scan, I recommend you do it.

Please give more detail about "disable scripts on that page". Also I tried the check disk but I am still having the problem. Thank you. Frank

Did the download you recommended but when I went to execute it, it said I could not execute that file type. Also, does this work that you are having me do on scripts have anything to do with my problem or is it to prevent future problems? Lastly, getting back to the check disk suggestion, when I did try to execute it I got a popup that said I could not do it but I could upon the next restart. I want to let you know that when I restarted, I took along time to get to my desktop but there were no popups saying that the check disk was complete or anything like that. Thank you. Frank

I tried one other thing to give you more info to work with. I printed screen and then pasted a screenshot into paint. When I went to save the same thing happened as described above.

problem solved but I still don't know what it was. I made a new folder called My Picture 2. I copied and pasted everything in My Pictures to this new folder. Now when I go to save something it works fine. If anyone knows what happened, why I fixed it, please let me know so I don't do it again. Thank you. Frank
