Capturing a still image? help

Hey all, I tried to "print screen" a still image of a movie played on "windoes media player" but it doesnt work, it saves as a black screen.

Does anyone know a player that allows me to save an image also allowing me to go frame by frame?

There's no surprise at seeing a black screen when using a screen capture other then one included with the player itself. WMP doesn't offer that feature unfortunately. One player that will run a wide variety of video file types as well as taking snap shots while watching a video file, dvd, vcd, etc. is Cyberlink's PowerDVD. The little image of a camera is seen on the face plate when the player is minimized to a window. A double click simply brings it back to full screen mode.
 
With AVerMedia's Ultra TV for analog input from various sources like a cable box, dvd player, or even a vhs recorder there's a screen capture there also with a camera icon when minimized. A good number of players also offer this. You just have to decide which one to go with.
 
i hit print screen while watching a dvd once, and set it as my backround, and my desktop was the movie playing in the back round
