I think I have decided to pick up an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ from cyberpower. It will come with 1 gig of RAM and 80 gigs of hard drive space. I'll be using it for gaming (though I don't get that much time) and also for basic office application stuff. I would like your help in making my final decision on the video card.

As it stands, I've got it configured with a Geforce 7600GS. Here's 4 other options:
1 - 6800XT for $11 less; spending less is always fine with me, but I do want the card I get to be good enough to last me for a while
2 - 6800GS for $49 more
3 - 7600GT for $72 more
4 - 7800GT for $145 more; this may be just a bit out of my price range, but it's close

FYI, I tend to play games like Civ 4, Rise of Nations, etc, though I do sometimes get into MMO's like WoW or CoH, and I have interest in Oblivion. Is the 7600GS good enough for my needs?

the 7600GS is not that good. Your best bet would be 7600GT or the 6800GS, the 7800GT is a little overkill for your needs.

Not necessarily. Oblivian is a very demanding game. My friend who is equiped with an intel 3.6, 2GB of RAM, and a 7800GTX 256mb cannot run Oblivion on all high settings.

I'm suprised they aren't putting the 7900's in there yet.
