Card reader problems

Not sure where to post this butas its due to data storage I will put it on here.

Ok basicaly my problem is the card reader on my PC has stopped working. I plug it in and the card does not register with the computer anymore. This could be one of two problems I think. Either the softwear that detects new devices has stopped working correctly, OR The card reader itself has died. I know the card is still good as it works in the digital camera still.

I am using compact flash card,, so any advice on what to do and if you think its the card reader thats died would be very appretiated thanks .

Have you tried looking it up in the device manager to uninstall it and reinstall it? right click on my computer, click on the hardware tab, and device manager. See if there are any icons with yellow flags next to them, those are the items that the computer can see but they aren't working properly. It is probably under storage volumes. So uninstall the drivers, and try reinstalling them. Also check the connection to the motherboard, maybe it got loose somehow.

It says the CF reader is working properly. And am am searching the net for new drivers/ Also I have no idea how to open the case and I think it voids my warranty so I won't try anyway.

I had this sort of problem before one day my remote for the computer just decided not to work then about 3 months later the radio card stopped picking up radio signals.
