Carry laptop around without turning off

I dont think so, if your gonna be carrying it around for a while though (like over an hour), you would probably want to put the computer to sleep, or hibernate. Besides, laptops are meant to be carried around.

although if you keep plugging it into the wall when you go inside a building, it would wearout your battery pretty quickly. And i just have to say that you should either turn it off or put it in hibernate whenever possible, that way you dont have to worry about wearing out the parts.

Is it bad for the laptop, if you carry it around without turning it off? and Why?

if it is kept in a laptop case then it is pretty bad considering there is no ventilation for the laptop. it might get kind of hot.

When a hard drive is operating it has a much lower resistance to shock forces. This emans that you ahve to be wuite careful when carrying it. Im sure if you just dont drop it and dont keep it shoved it a bag for a long time it will be fine.

um, if the laptop is asleep, idk if you'd really have to worry about the cooling pad, i mean, its asleep.
If you need a cooling pad while its in that mode, that i'm betting you are pretty well screwed whenever you turn it on.
Or are you wondering if the cooling pad could keep it cool while in a bag? well probably not because the air won't circulate enough in the bag to keep it cool even if you had 7 fans. now, if you had a bigger space, and vents in the bag, it would work, but idk if there are any bags like that.

does the cooling pad still operates if the lappy goes to sleep?

if by sleep you mean standby or hibernate then no the fan does not work. the computer is basically turned off but power is still fed to keep the whatever is still in the memory there.

hmmmm, well, actually, lol you could say it does work, some of them don't require power, but those still are useless then since they are basically big heat-sincs.

Anyway, why would you need to have it stil on while moving around? just wondering

the fan does not work as in it is not powered and therefore does not move.

ram is volatile which means it loses all data when it is deprived of power. in sleep mode it continues to feed power to the ram to keep the information stored in the ram so when your computer comes out of sleep mode, everything is where you left it.

um, alanuofm, that first part was kinda a joke, i was tlaking about those cooling pads that act like heat sincs, and the second one was asking why he needed to leave it on while carrying it. like if he needed to stay connected to a wireless network or he just wanted it on as soon as he oppened it up or what.
