Case Back Plate

Hey all,

My motherboard is an ATX one so i made sure I bought an ATX case too. When both arrived i attempted to attatch the motherboard into it. At my dismay, the I/O plate does not match up with my sound connectors. While messing around with it I found that my back plate could be took off quite easily. Do you really need a back plate at all?

Cheers

Ben

The backplate that is on the case when you buy it is just a generic one, that is put onto all cases, you should have recieved a proper one when you bought your mobo. If you didnt then i would seriously think about complianing.

In answer to "do you relly need it", its not crucial to the system booting up but it stops dust and stops you accidentally poking a wire in there and frying the mobo, plus it looks nicer.

You mobo should of come with it's own plate...but no, it's not really nessesary. It probably helps a bit with cooling and keeping dust out, but that's all. Heck, put tape around it if you want ;)

i bought the mobo off of ebay so I didnt expect much really, I can buy one off of there for about 2 quid anyway. But cheers anyway for your input.
