Hey there everyone, my case mod i nearing an end, yes there si a worklog, but im no releasing it til its finished, lol. Anyhoo, i bought some Araldite (Industrial Adheasive) from eBay, it came with no instructions at all, its just some strong glue in a sirynge by itself.

What i need to know is what to do with this glue, do i apply it to one or both surfaces, do i let it dry to become tacky and then affix the two materials together..... I have no clue, and its only a 24ml syringe, so i dont wanna have to buy another one, it was damn expensive, lol.

Any tips/info would be great, thanks, dragon2309 :D

Well, i think its used like normal glue, it takes about 20mins before you can handle it.

Was there just a siringe, or is there a resin to mix in with it?

hmmm, yeh, its a dual sirynge thingy, one is a resin and one is a hardener or sometign like that, so i like mix them together on a piece of card or somethign, then wait 20 mins, then what....??

Well, you need mostly resin, then a little hardener. Mix it all up on the cardboard, an leave it for a few mins to settle. It ill be really sticky, a little like dough. They apply it, i like to use a ice scraper for a car windscreen, works well.

(Its basicly the same procedure as fibreglass, worked on loadsa cars with it)

Ok, thanks, but i have no control over the amounts of each that come out, cos its joined together, so they will be equal (hardener and resin). Also, so i mix this gloop up and leave it to "settle" for like 3-5 mins, then what, do i put it on both or just one surface, note i am glueing metal to acrylic (plastic).

Thanks again, dragon2309 :D

Mmmmmmmm, not sure about the surface, its just slap it on with fibreglass.

However, id imagine it would be either surface.

Ok, thanks for the advice, so it's:

1. Get resin/hardener mixed on card
2. Leave it to "set" for like 5 mins
3. Glob it on either surface (i'll go for the metal, its easier)
4. Wait 50,000 days for the damn stuff to dry, lol
5. Admire my handywork (lol)

Nope, its only like 30 mins before you can handle it, but prob a good few hours to harden properly.

When its "setting" mix it every now and then.

What ive told ya if like i said, for fibreglass, but since its pretty much the same, you should be alright.

Good Luck!!

Thanks, i will be glueing it tommorow so i will post back with what happens, that is if i havent stuck my fingers together by then. Thanks for you help.

(Wow, i think thats the fastest ive ever had a oneversation with someone through posting, lol. Thanks man)
