Case Problem

I have the Cooler Master HAF 932.
I dont know but something like this happened.

The plastic of one of my front USB ports got removed.

I think because of that whenever I boot up it says that USB Port Over Power. So I removed the Front USB ports connectors from the motherboard.

So I wanted to know what I can do about this?
Is there something that can be done.
I dont think coolermaster will cover in warranty since clearly this is cosmetic damage.

Well, the only reason it should be giving you an error like that would be if it's shorting out somewhere. If you can find where it's shorting out and fix it then you should be able to use the other three USB ports. Another option might be to remove the left set of USB ports (would require desoldering) all together.

Dont know how the ports are connected to the case on the inside. But you could probably contact C/M and get them to send you a set of ports. Or maybe just the plastic insert between the ports.

I doubt you could rebuild the ports themselves, so yeah, see if they will hook you up with the front ports sub-assembly. I have no doubt that's what is causing your grief.

Then find out who was messing with your case... got little kids running around?

My room-mates are very careless with my computer.
I will try and contact coolermaster and try to get the front assembly.
Even if I have to pay for it I don't mind.
Thank you guys.

Sounds like time to lock up your computer, then. When they complain, show them the bill for parts (and add $100/hr labor).

Well he can also show me the hospital bill when I beat him up when he broke my ($100)earphones.Even though I got it covered under warranty. But my keyboard and mouse combo is more expensive than his television and he freaks out about his television on a slightest electricity MCB trip but uses my keyboard while eating butter popcorn.(Imagine my horror)
So I banned everyone from using my computer and put all my files on the network so they can access them from their stupid laptops. And denied them playing games on my computer and gave them my old PS2 for games.
I opened up a thread on an Indian forum where cooler master service is one of the members. No replies yet.

What do you think. They have spare Front assemblies or what.

If they still sell the case, then yes.

If it's discontinued, maybe.

You might hit the eBay and related sites and see if someone is parting out one or selling a case which has that part intact.

Or, maybe upgrade to a new case...

On Indian Ebay I don't think so.

The case is not discontinued.
And I wont upgrade to a new case since this one is pretty good and I have no money.

Thanks for the help.
I just hope I get it.

And $100 for the labour man labour is expensive there.

... and that, my friend, is why we have so many n00bs swinging through here with basic malware and repair questions.

Ok so I contacted Cooler Master Support about this problem and I also left them a mail. And the final reply I got from them was that I can purchase it from their USA store and they will ship it to India,But that will be at the end of the month. So the next day I find a package from cooler master and I find the front assembly new brand in it even though I did not buy it nor pay for it nor was my case under warranty nor did I present them with a bill.

If it was intended then cooler master service is amazing and if not then also they are amazing because they made such an awesome mistake.
After recieving the free front assembly I wrote a thank you mail to the support guy but no reply since. It has been 4 days.

Awesome. I'll guess that they did that on purpose. It's an inexpensive investment on their part to net a lifetime customer, no?

Yepp.
The front assembly retail is only $10 so it wouldnt affect them at all + they also get a life-time customer WIN for them as well as me.

You know when I got it I checked all my browser history and all my mail and spam mail to see whether I made a payment for it or just got it for free.I even went through my credit card statements and and my bank account statements to check for the same and it turned out it was for free.

But still why havent they replied yet.If it was a mistake maybe they are angry at themselves for sending a free item and if it was not they should graciously accept the thanks since I posted on their support forum one of the india tech forums so that will only boost their reputation.
