My computer is mainly useing for rendering, when rendering (100% CPU load on both cores for 2-3 hours straight) I get around 40C. Is that pretty good??? I'm useing a E6550 with the stock heatsink and it isn't overclocked




one more question, my HDD temps are right around 38C is that good??? I have 1 fan blowing cool air on it and one fan sucking hot air from it

A bit high, but still in the acceptable range. Type of HDD, location in the case, proximity to cool incoming air, etc. are all variables. If they work fine as-is and you don't notice anything with them, you're good.

I was using Speedfan and I would shut-down right away and check BIOS's temps too

Using BIOS and software like SpeedFan to compare temps isn't going to do much; there are too many things happening/not happening to accurately compare the two.

For example, when you enter BIOS, your CPU is running at 100% speed, but at a super small load When in Windows and looking at SpeedFan, most likely EIST has kicked in to lower the clock speed, and you might see a slightly higher load. Also, just as CPU's heat up quick, they cool down quick. During the time it takes to look at the temp via SpeedFan, reboot, then enter BIOS, you could have dropped 20*C, then raised 10*. For comparison, it's best to do SpeedFan against CoreTemp against Everest, etc; much more accurate.
 
Considering the cooling you have 40c is pretty normal.
Mine gets around 45c, but that's heavily oc'ed and has high grade cooling.
