Cause of freezing

I was overclocking a celeron D from 2.8 ghz to 3.2 ghz with CPUFSB. That went fine. I take it down to 3 ghz and everything freezes. Was this from heat? Anyone else oc a celeron D and how far could you go?

there is no limit for how far it can go,
the heat can be a problem, but even at 3.2 ghz may be it was already unstable...
you might also want to have a look at your vcore (voltage on cpu)

but i'd say +0.4Ghz is very good

Of course there is a limit....you can only reach a certain OC before your pci-e slot starts flaking out or your sata port. Also the voltage will eventually fry the cpu even if it isnt hot enough.
