Ccleaner wipe free space

It doesn't! I just ran CCleaner on two USB flash drives to wipe free space with an overwrite of 7 passes and I was still able to recover data with Recuva. Total snake oil! I'm now going to find another program that might do the job.

Just a public service announcement.

PS. Ccleaner doesn't get rid of all temp files either. Run System Ninja and you will see the sheer amount of crap.

Acronis True Image should be able to wipe data off your drives properly. It costs money, but most SSD purchases come with a copy.

Personally I wouldn't worry about getting every single MB of space because I usually don't fill USB drives to the max.... Hell a 128GB USB drive is $26....

CCleaner does a great job on my desktop as far as I can see.

You can mark Kingston off that list

EDIT: Be honest, how many times did you fail the security exam before you gave up and went solo?

LOL

You do know data is distributed throughout the whole thing right? Free space is space that could have had old data.

Straight up dude, what the hell are you involved in that requires the kind of ultra high security you drone on and on about?

You come across as a mega paranoid freak and it's pretty bizarre truthfully. No normal computer user needs the plethora of random programs you seem to constantly advocate for.

The NSA keeps looking at his file don't you know? :O

I guess you grabasses never used DBAN or anything like that? Never used encryption?

And you're gonna BS about FTP, really? Jackass doesn't even come close. Bunch of whinny millennials.

Do you even need encryption for any of your USB use or is it just for fun?

No, I don't use encryption on a USB stick. I just wiped some torrent crap off one with Eraser though. I might throw Tails on a USB stick which will encrypt the drive. My computers use FDE though.
