I just downloaded CCleaner, if I want to clean my disk or registry is there anything important that I could accidentally delete? I know most of the stuff it deletes are just temporary files, cookies and things like that but just want to make sure.

And what does the applications tab do?
 
The only things I'd worry about would be your recycling bin and any stuff related to your browsers (history, cookies as you said, etc). Besides that, there shouldn't be anything you need located in the folders it cleans.
 
On a side-note, good choice in using CCleaner.
Most people think I'm crazy when I suggest it (as they usually ask what the first 'C' stands for, haha) but it's a great tool, and the price is right!
