CD drive and memory card readers all not recognised!

I go into my computer and none of my drives are there, only C drive, but know cd/dvd drive and all my memory card readers gone!

Help please

goto device manager and see if the driver are showing any problems.?
if you dont know where device manager is it in control panel, under system, on tab hardware, click device manager

The problem actually is on a friends computer, i seem to remeber there being a yelllow exclamation ! mark on the small icon of either the cd drive or one of theother memory card reader drives,

Why? Any way have you done any resent software of hardware changes? Sometimes the removeal of DLL files causes drive to disappear or stop functioning.
