cd drive switching

as title says, i need to switch a cd drive from an old computer to a new one so i can actually put an OS on it.

What precautions do i need to do for my comptuer and the md drive? I dont know if its sensitive or anything, so plz tell me.

I can't think of anything to say, other than don't drop it or decide to give it a bath first, cd drives are fairly rugged so you won't hurt it by switching cases with it
