cd drive

From what belarc advisor tell me I have a "lite-on cd-rw sohr-5239v (cd-rom drive)". I assume I can NOT write to a dvd-rw with my drive? Is this correct?
Can someone verify this for me please?

From what you provided, that would be correct. You can only burn CD-R and CD-RW discs.

DVD write drives are cheap now days anyways. You can get a decent Sata for under $30 and an IDE is even cheaper.

Agree... if you burn a DVD with a CD burner, it will turn out very crappy!

As for being SATA or IDE- it makes NO difference (performance wise)with Optical Drives anyway
