In a stretch of desperation, I've searched several message boards with old posts and decided to ask a question here.
(Since I'm rushing this may not be in the correct forum, but I saw other questions in this area so I assume it's alright.)
To put it shortly, as stated in the title, my cd/dvd drive no longer brings up any auto-run applications nor asks "What would you like to do with the disc?" nor anything else, instead it does nothing. I've had this problem for the longest time, but this computer doesn't have to use them often. However, now that I do need it the drive has to be fixed.
I'm not especially tech savvy, but I do know a few things. I usually know it's asked what type of computer I have, but when it comes to this question I'm not sure what to include.
I have the NV55C, a Gateway laptop, 64-bit, with Windows 7 Home Premium.
If more information is needed then I will reply ASAP.
