CD / DVD Drives

Just finishing up on my build. Need to order CD / DVD drives. What is the most useful combination? I will burn both CD and DVD's. I assume going SATA is way. Any specific brands that are preferred?? Thanks for your input!!!

Thats the drive im getting on my new build come Xmas. Its only 25$, its prety fast, and its 5egg rated.

Its a CD/DVD burner.

i like samsung and hitachi, big names, cheap, and depending on how much u wanna spend, pretty fast and well built

LG is also another very good brand, i have never had any problems with their products, DVD burners at least.

I think as far as brands go there all about the same, but go for DVD RW and lightscribe cant hurt!

just dont get lite on. we have 2 and they r both giving us shit when opening. sometimes anyways.

As far as performance is concerned, it make no difference wether SATA/IDE but as for connectivity/airflow etc, then it could be important to you.

but go for DVD RW and lightscribe cant hurt!

That's what I settled for as they do everything and I also installed a 2nd DVDRW drive to eliminate the need to swap discs over during burning.
