Hello All.

I am building a Lamp using

-A Cathode Ray
-LOTS of CD's
-Old Motherboard
-Old Power Supply

And i want to work out how i can do a base and a roof for it.

What do you think would work and look best?

Here it is so far, How i have it set up:

Testing The Motherboard and PSU

Now, My Question, What Should I Do For The Base?

That looks pretty sweet. Maybe some better quality pics would be nice.

For the base, maybe get some small LED's and put them in there. But get a different color, maybe red or green.

Couldn't you get some sort of adapter to power the tube instead of having that motherboard, PSU etc hooked up to it? But that does look pretty impressive. Your almost tempting to me give it a shot :p.

Rove.

I think he's using it for the power on, although couldn't he use a standard SPST switch connected to the PSU to save space?

The Motherboard and PSU are only Temporary,

I only Used them to test it all out before i buy an adaptor.

As for the better quality pictures, when i find my Digital Camera, Ill take some better ones.

Its quite bright too :D

Looks Cool :D

Should i go for like a Wooden Base?

hm very interesting. I am now thinking about making one, as I have 2 blue 12" cathode tubes in the computer that really doesn't do much. :)

Yeah Do it man :D

Its awsome.

Except, i don't know what to do for a base . . .

Currently, Its sitting on a roll of Stickytape.

haha.

Hmm, how about a round wooden panel? I might do that. But first I need to save up enough junk CD's..
