Do you usually buy games on CD or DVD??

I like to (whenever avaliable) buy games on DVD since some games (like COD 2 or UT2004) have 6 or even 7 install discs. I have Painkiller and COD 2 on DVD.

I only have a DVD drive on my parents old computer, win98 128-RAM, basically a crap station. Anyway, the DVD games that came with it were really nice. So I vote DVD.

i voted DVD becuase its better to have 1 cd than 5cd's(games like fear and hl2) it gets annoying switching the cd's. Also if your going to reinstall on another comp theres a higher risk of loosing 1 of the 5 cds than loosing the one cd that u play w/. right?

Ya, I find that easier too. I also like how DVD's usually come in "collectors editions" like my COD 2 version, and it came with a second DVD with bonus stuff like mission walthroughs, developer commentary, etc. and its really cool. With CD's, you almost never find that.

UT is a bastard on cd, i was so pissed off when i opened the case and found seven discs wtf is up with that

rotflmfao!!!!! i kno wat you mean. before i was use to games being only like 2 or 3 cd's then i got HL2 and it was 5 and i had to install it twice, the reason i dont remember but i think it was becuase my comp froze. It pissed me off and took like 20min to finish.

Oh my god I had the worst experiance with secret weapons over normandy (bad game by the way). It came in 4 CD's even though it could fit in 3 or even 2. And the order of the CD's whas messed up so I had to try intsalling it like 50 times before I realized I had to put the CD's in in order like 1,3,2,4 wtf

you would think that someone with a computer capable of playing UT would be sophisticated enough to have a DVD drive....

Then again if you look at the currently accepted "value" for the lowest common user compatibility that applications should be able to run on is a pentium 2, 64 meg ram, 28.8 modem and Windows 95.....

Well usually DVD costs more and they dont offer DVD for all new games. So i'd say CD.

I'm asking if you had the option would you :)

But yeah, I was PISSED when I had to use 7 CD's for UT2004... never again will I buy a game on CD unless I am forced too.
