CD player problem:confused:

Everytime I put a disc into my computer, no matter what kind of disc(cd, dvd, software) nothing happens, at all. This just recently started happening and I need help. Anyone know what is wrong?

nothing happens

that is such a broad term,
nothing happens? no LED on the cd drive flickers, no pop ups on the monitor
can't browse to the cd drive in windows explorer ?
what os do you have ?

to test the cdrom drive put a bootable cd, like your windows cd in the drive and set your bios to boot from the cd drive, if the pc does boot more than likely it is something in your OS. BTW if you do boot to the cd , don't go through with the rest take the cd out...it was just for a test.
