cd-r with xp

ok so i have to replace my hard drive on my desktop. I dont have any operating system, however, I have a cd-r with windows xp service pack 2. will i be able to install that with no problems onto my machine? I should note there is a windows tag on the back of my computer with a product key, can i use that to activate my xp if i can install it?

As long as the copy you use is the same that was installed on the computer, you can use the key. As in like XP home/Pro/Media center OEM.

Make sure the disk is bootable.
