i have some pretty scratched up cds and i wondering if anybody had some tricks to getting them to read better i just need them to read once cause im importing them into itunes i would like to find something inexpensive

For very minor scratched a bit of toothpaste sometimes works, but it probably won't work for you... There are places/stores that will shave-off a thin layer of the plasic to get it smooth, but I have no idea how much that would cost.

In the past I've had frightening levels of success with shampoo (I wouldn't think that toothpaste would help minor scratches all that much since it's so abrasive). Either that, or pick up some cd-scratch remover. The cd-scratch remover works fairly well, but it's not cheap (about 6 dollars last time I picked some up).

Toothpaste works very well. And if it doesnt, at least the cd smells minty.

Try to buy the d skins at best buy or somewhere. It really works on my halo 2.

Thats what i do. Spread a small layer of toothpaste over the cd, then with a damp tissue, wipe it off. Or lick it, depending on if your breathe smells or not :P
