I tried to reinstall my old CD drive and I get a (Code 39)

You could try updating the driver in your control panel under the drive in Device Manager or uninstall it and reboot and see if it installs the right driver. If that doesnt work this will fix it.

this did not help it out ethier.
I uninstalled and updated the current driver.
Nothing, it recognizes it in device manager.
Do you know for sure the drive works, is the jumper set correct Master or Slave. Maybe try another IDE cable.
