i just bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago, an acer aspire
well i was doing just fine until reacently when it decided it didn't want to read any cd's anymore. it only has one drive and well it doesn't open up on the screen and when you go to "my computer" it says there is nothing in the drive.
what do i do ? what's wong with it ?
it worked fine a couple of days ago , i put loads of cd's in and now it won't read anything.

thanks

1. It is absolutely quite possible that the drive has burnt itself out :P Not likely ... but possible (ive done it)

2. If you've got burner problems, what you might need to do is to uninstall the drive from Windows, reboot and let Windows automatically reinstall the device for you. To do so, (1) Control Panel, (2) System, (3) Hardware, (4) Device Manager, (5) Expand the DVD/CD-ROM Drives entry, right click on thr troublesome drive and uninstall it. Now simply reboot and let Windows try and repair itself.
