CD-ROM error "incorrect function"

Does anybody know why I cannot access software on a CD anymore in my CD-ROMs? I can still play audio's and DVD's but when trying to access software or media files, I get an "incorrect function" error message. I can even write files to an external DVD/CD writer (just installed NERO 6 SE, may be connected?), but cannot read them, once on disc?? Any help on this much appreciated as it is doing my head in.......

Sorted ....

Ok, think I have sorted out my own problem. It is the upgrade version of InCD that comes with Nero6.3. Uninstalled and problem gone. Will be on to Nero tomorrow.
