I changed the boot sequence a few weeks ago on my Dell 5150 to try and get it to boot of a CD and now when i look in the boot setup is says 'not present' on the CD ROM drive and in 'My Computer' theres only local disk and no CD ROM or anything else.
Iv tried a different drive and IDE cable but its still the same.:(

Any Ideas????

Thanks

If you have an IDE hard drive on the same IDE cable, you can still have a problem. A jumper looks like this:

Somewhere on the drive there should be instructions on where to put the jumper for each setting (master, slave, cable select). If both your hard drive and CD drive are on the same IDE cable, make sure that the hard drive is set to master and the CD drive is set to slave, or that both drives are set to cable select.
