cdrom problem

i got a problem with my LITE-ON CD-RW CDROM SOHR-5239s, sometimes it doesnt read my cds and when this problem occurs my pc lags and when i check my cd drive it wasnt there in "my computer", my cdrom is not detected until i restart my pc....it happens at random though, what do you guys think is the culprit? a faulty cdrom? or just a damaged cd? :(
 
Same disk or do different ones cause the problem? If many cause the problem it's probably a bad drive. It's not too uncommon for them to die
 
it goes at random, i installed my cdrom to my second computer and it seems to run well on every disk that caused the problem on my first computer, could it be possible that there is something wrong with my computer?
