ok as u can see in my sig im running a celeron d with a DFI 661fx mlv rev a board...it doesnt support celeron d and they havent come out with a bios update. it causes a random reboot every now and again but when i chnage some settings in the bios it stopps it..and also after installing xp sp2 and not updating to latest patches it doesnt do it...

is there anyway i can stop this by altering something?

if not np..i just thought id ask

Thanks

yea im positive..the ms error that comes up says that the bios needs an update and it wants me to do somthing about it. its not the ram, hd or anything like that...it could be the psu but thats a small possibility. dfi says that my board doesnt support this cpu...OH WELL THATS WHAT I GOT!. it came with my comp and my supplier said it was up to dfi for a microcode update..pfff thanks alot dfi.

Thanks

yes i know the bios procedure.i am a computer technician :) ..thanks for the link i wasnt aware about the new release...it does say REVISION C. however i will try it anyway. it will fail if its not the right size. there r 2 revisions of my board, a and c. c supporting all prescott cpus and a only supporting p4 in prescott...i dont understand why they just dont give out an update for rev.a its really not that hard.
