Celeron E1200, the cheapest dual core at newegg

its hard to believe how much a cheapie cpu can overclock....WOW...i had a singlecore cele thing was Slow!!!!!!Slow!!! but i wouldnt mind trying to OC a dual Cele...

Its still going to be realy slow thoug because of its cache.

i suppose it would be okay for internet stuff like that and general use like the old Celerons but forget gaming.

+2

I agree too, I was able to get mine to 3.0GHz ;)
I havent OC mine.I have been letting it settle in and checking it for signs of instabiity while its under the 30 day newegg rule.I will probably let it ride for about 6 months then over clock it.

Seems to be quite nice just the way it is.

I agree that paying an extra $20 for E2180 would be a better idea because it have 400MHz higher clock and double the cache

But what if some one don't want to play heavy games. What if someone want just to browse the internet and run office applications ?! I'm pretty sure that you won't notice the difference between E1200 and E2180 in general use and windows applications.

And those cerelon dual cores are great overclockers as well

my friend has a crappy dell with vista and a E2160 and a 8400gs or some crap and can play counter strike source with like 60fps....

CS:S is a pretty light running game. It really doesn't take much to play the game at 60FPS especially when you play at a low res or low settings, I average well over 100.
