celeron question

I believe that would depens on the socket type of your mother board, tell us what your m/b is, or what cpu you and m/b you have.

but whats the socket type? there are many different intels with different pins

try to install it, if it fits ok if it doesn't get another mobo

If you are using a Celron D then most likley you have a sock 468 but run SiSandra and check the motherboard icon and the should tell you make and model of the mobo as well as the socket type. If your board is a socket 468 then make sure you check to see if the board can handle prescotts.

i believe CPU-Z also tells u what socket it is... so are you able to replace it with a pentium?
