Centrino question

Hi,

I'm looking to get a new laptop, mine has started eating itself, I've been looking at the options and a lot of the laptops i'm considering use the centrino processor but they are all like 1.4ghz-1.8ghz... this would actually be a downgrade from the processor speed i have in this computer (2.2ghz celeron) should i be looking at it this way or is there something special about the centrino or are they nothing special?

thanks for your help

1. Clock speed isnt everything
2. The Centrino that you'd find in that laptop will eat the 2.2GHz Celeron alive
3. Wireless support and battery life are always nice :)

so it would be a whole better choice all in all then??

or would something like a Mobile AMD Sempron® 3000+ (1.8GHz) be as good an option for the cheaper price??

The Mobile Sempron is based off the Barton (K7) core and as such the Centrino would still be a superior platform :)
