Change a case...

That's a micro-atx case, so you should be able to put the motherboard, PSU, drives, and cards into just about any new case.

The other stuff, though, like the card reader and RCA jacks, probably won't go over without some heavy dremel work.

Most just fit in a floppy drive don't they? I can't see gateway using something custom.

@ op yes you can, enjoy :) If you bought a dell it would of been a different story. And you will probably learn how to build your own pc next time while in the process.

yes, taking apart a pc is a great way to learn about hardware. that's how i did at first! plus, it is SUPER fun. that is one reason i love doing upgrades... but back to the thread, yes, you should be good to go. just make sure you get the right size case and that it supports your motherboard size.

Yeah, the very first computer I ever 'modded' was a retail HP Pavilion. It taught me so much about parts and how to build a machine!

When I built my first custom machine, that knowledge helped make the process so easy!!

You can just transplant the Gateway components into a new case!!

They did do something custom. The card reader pops out of the top of the case, and the RCA jacks on the front are mounted in front of the sideways 3.5" bays in this pic:

Oh that's kinda cool. Is it still a 3.5" card reader? because it should still fit. otherwise I can send you a 3.5" one from a hp machine.
