Alright, so last week I had made a post with a plan to buy a computer. Some stuff came up (old lady totalled car, last minute call to go to school for 8 weeks for apprenticeship) and I had to slash and cut budget.
Can't spend any more than low $1700 (CAD) range to my door (in Canada). Thats tax, shipped, shipping insurance ect.
This build is primarily going to be used for Gaming.
I plan to grab the HDD out of my old fried computer and use it for its OS, and eventually after I get back to work and pay this out. Same with and older case, moniter, little things.
I however do need a:
CPU
MOBO
GPU
RAM
PSU
Possibly a new HDD
So far I've picked out:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400

ASUS P5W DH Deluxe

EVGA E-GEFORCE 8800 GTS 500MHZ 640MB 1.6GHZ GDDR3
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=21406
Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400 2GB 2X1GB PC6400 DDR2-800 CL 5-5-5-12

Seasonic S12 ENERGY+ 550W

**And here I am debating**
Western Digital Raptor 36GB SATA 10000RPM
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=21008
Will the HDD really be worth the $150 for gaming? OR would it be wiser to throw that money elsewhere for the e6600 or better ram timings?
Also will that 8800 GTS bottleneck anywhere with the processor?
Thanks for any help!
