Hi !

Actuallyt i have on my computer a HDD (250 GB Maxtor) and i want format it.

But now, I want change my operating system (Windows XP) to Windows Seven, and i want create two different partition.

One partition for Windows Seven, and one partition for my pictures and my videos.

How i can do that ? Can i do that with the DVD of Windows Seven ?

Thanks you =)

Before you do this BACK UP YOUR PICTURES, MUSIC, DOCUMENTS, ETC.

Okay, now when you install Windows 7, delete the current partition. Create a new partition and change the size to however big you want the windows 7 partition to be. Say you want it to be 80GB, then you would make it 81920MB. Once you get 7 installed, go into the disk management utility (right click MY COMPUTER>MANAGE>DISK MANAGEMENT) then right click on the empty unpartitioned space on the drive and format it.

I'm pretty sure the Windows 7 disk manager can resize partitions, I'm not sure if that's available at install time though. And you'd still want to backup your files in case it failed so voyagerfan's method is probably the most straightforward.

Yup. Just stick the install disc in (after backup), follow prompts, and you'll be able to manage your partitions the way you want from the disc.
